See Why You Shouldn’t Subscribe To NCC’s Do Not Disturb (DND) Code

The NCC recently mandated all network operators in Nigeria to introduce a Do-Not-Disturb (DND) service to all customers, effective from July 1, 2016.

This post is to enlighten you about the DND (Do Not Disturb) and how subscribing to it can be a bad decision.

This however, have its advantages, but believe me the disadvantages is more than the advantages.

WHAT EXACTLY IS DND (DO NOT DISTURB)?

The “Do Not Disturb” service allows customers to opt out of receiving promotional messages for 3rd Party services (Bulk SMS, VAS promos, etc)

REASONS WHY YOU SHOULDN’T ACTIVATE NCC’s DO NOT DISTURB (DND)

It’s obvious that those who really disturb our cell phones are the network operators (MTN, Etisalat, Glo & Airtel), this is because you can hardly block their messages unlike other sms and short code services you can use your call and message blocker app to silent forever.

<<== Are Promotional Messages from Network Operators (MTN, Etisalat, Glo & Airtel) included in DND?

NO. DND (Do Not Disturb) service will only be introduced for 3rd party services e.g. VAS, Bulk SMS etc.

<<== Now, we all will agree with me that we receive a lot of important messages starting from our church, wedding, school, Job interview, events etc.

<<== What Nigerians really need is a block or DND which will also give option to opt out of network operators promo messages.

<<== Don’t miss out of crucial information just because of DND (Do Not Disturb).

The best way to avoid unsolicited messages and calls is to use call and message blocker app.

You have to understand this before taking action on DND (Do Not Disturb) to avoid missing out a lot of information being passed on daily basis.

Opting out or subscribing to DND (Do Not Disturb) simply means you will not receive all messages sent to your line using Bulk SMS and other third party application which maybe important to you.

NCC and the Network operators has misinformed us, what we really need is an option to opt out of network providers unsolicited messages and calls.

Pass this information across to your loved ones.
